Conference Announced – Politics According to the Bible: Social Justice in an Unjust World
If ever there was a time for us to understand what the Bible requires of us when it comes to the world of politics, it is now!
As part of our passion to advance, defend, and equip West Virginia’s families, the Family Policy Council of West Virginia is pleased to announce its upcoming conference, Politics According to the Bible: Social Justice in an Unjust World - a day-long conference designed to explore how Christians ought to engage in political debates and what role the Gospel plays in them.
Leading the discussions will be some of the best minds in America today:
- Dr. Wayne Grudem, professor of Theology and Biblical Studies at Phoenix Seminary, and author of the forthcoming book, Politics According to the Bible: A Comprehensive Resource for Understanding Modern Political Issues in Light of Scripture.
- Rev. Greg Gilbert, pastor and author of the book, What is the Gospel?
- Wayne C. Barnard, Ph.D., of the International Justice Mission, a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression.
- Erik Stanley, Esq., senior legal counsel to the Alliance Defense Fund and director of ADF’s Pulpit Initiative to empower pastors to speak freely from their pulpit on all matters of life, including how Scripture and church teaching have application to candidates and elections.
The conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. (doors open at 8:30 a.m.) and last until 2:00 p.m. on September 10, 2010 at Christ Temple Church in Huntington, WV.
