Martinsburg, WV – For many people it’s the most wonderful time of the year. No, not Christmas (though I personally love this time of the year) I’m referring to the annual Girl Scouts Cookie Sale. The time when all those yummy cookies are peddled (sometimes literally) door to door in hopes of making money for trips, causes, and other reasons. But before you buy that next box of Thin Mints or whatever your favorite is, consider exactly what you will be supporting.
Most people don’t know that the Girl Scouts of America (GSUSA) have established a strong partnership with Planned Parenthood; the nation’s leading abortion merchant. This partnership contains a radical, feminist agenda including explicit sex education, abortion, and sexual exploration for girls as young as 9 and 10 years old.
For a very detailed description of the partnership between GSUSA and Planned Parenthood take a look at this article.
For now, let me hit some of the highlights of this devious agreement between our nation’s largest abortion business and a once respectable organization.
At a March 2010 UN Conference on women’s rights the Girl Scouts distributed a brochure from Planned Parenthood called “Happy, Healthy and Hot.” You can click here to read this brochure. Without getting into too many specifics let me just say that this brochure is not appropriate for 9 and 10 year old girls. The advice contained in it will certainly violate the moral and/or religious convictions of many parents.
Abby Johnson writes in this blog post about another brochure called “How to know you are ready for sex.” The interesting thing about this brochure is that it has the Girls Scouts of America logo right on the brochure. You can also check this blog post to see more information on the connection between the Girls Scouts and Planned Parenthood.
Why am I writing about this? Maybe you are thinking there are much bigger issues to report about – especially with an election coming up – than the partnership between the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood. But, the thing is, this is big. The Girls Scouts are deceiving millions of girls each year with their “wholesome” image in order to get them into the organization. Once inside these girls actively participate in raising money that directly funds abortion.
The Girls Scouts will adamantly deny that they have a partnership with Planned Parenthood. They will try to cover it up as much as possible in order to get more unsuspecting girls inside their organization. Of course, this is hard to do when you have former Girl Scouts CEO Kathy Cloninger on video admitting the relationship exists.
The bottom line is that the Girl Scouts have become complicit in a radical liberal agenda of sexualizing young girls while simultaneously indoctrinating them with accepting abortion. The outcome is obvious. Planned Parenthood and the Girl Scouts have devised a way to ensure a solid client base for years to come. These girls are led to believe that early sexual experimentation is normal and they should engage in it. Then they are taught that abortion is a wonderful form of “birth control.” The end result is millions of girls worldwide that experiment with sex, get pregnant, and then turn to their “partner” Planned Parenthood for a quick, easy, abortion.
So what can you do? First, don’t let your daughters or grand-daughters be Girl Scouts. Your participation in this organization makes you complicit with their liberal, feminist agenda of sexualization and abortion. Every penny you provide will support this agenda and that is one penny too much.
Second, think about joining the American Heritage Girls instead. Tis organization, founded in 1995, is based on the principals of faith, service, and fun. Structured much like the Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls seeks to educate girls with life skills that will serve them into adulthood. It also seeks to be active in serving the community, and is based on principals of faith. You can rest assured that not one dime from this organization is used to support abortion, so this would be an excellent alternative to the Girl Scouts.
These are the decisions that matter. When we ignore the fact that we are supporting abortion and a liberal sexual agenda by supporting the Girl Scouts we are guilty of a particularly heinous apathy. We cannot continue to say we oppose things, like abortion, and then support those that so brazenly support and fund it; especially when quality alternatives exist.

I had no idea of the things that Girl Scouts represnt. This is also the first time I have heard of American Heritage Girls.
This is ridiculous. I was in the Girl Scouts as a child and I know Girl Scouts now. I have never heard or seen this. Even if there is a connection, you make ignorant and false relations to Girl Scouts themselves supporting abortion. Little girls just want to hang out with friends and sell cookies for their troop. You make it seem as though the Girl Scout organization is promoting promiscuity and abortion in their young girls. That is false. Go to a Girl Scout meeting and get your facts straight. Abortion is wrong, but the Girl Scouts are NOT encouraging these young ladies to agree with them.

Unfortunately and sadly the connect between Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood is true. There connection with PP is just one of the many items on their evil agenda. Please go to http://www.100questionsforthegirlscouts.org/100/
and do your homework. The parish troops may not be preaching it but your $ are doing the work. Girl Scouts are making the $ and indirectly you are supporting PP and their ideas. The Journey programs were actually writen by a cult leader! It is a harsh reality to believe and it is easy to ignore but “to see evil and do nothing is in itself evil:!
The Girl Scouts direct girls to agencies that support Planned Parenthood.
What a lot of crap! making the leap from Girl Scouts to abortion is really stretching it. Seems to me alarmist like this are trying to discredit any wholesome, established activity that teaches girls to be intelligent and realize their dreams to become tomorrow’s leaders. Just another lame attempt to keep women in their place.
As for the American Heritage Girls, it is a good organization if somewhat new. Doesn’t seem to me that another girl group needs to replace the Girl Scouts. Especially with it being promoted in an article slamming an older established group like the Girl Scouts of America with fear mongering and half baked lies.
As for me, I’m buying cookies and supporting my local Girl Scout troupe that meets in my church every Tuesday.
The point is not that the Girl Scouts are linked to Planned Parenthood. I do not agree with abortion, so that is a little upsetting. The point is that the blog makes it seem as though the troops themselves are teaching the girls sexuality and abortion. That is false. I just think both sides of an issue should be examined before an argument is made. I can agree that the relation is troubling, but I will firmly stand behind the argument I have made because not all of the “facts” are true.
There is NO link between Girl Scouts and planned parenthood. Do some research before you spread your earth shattering news. Yes Girl Scouts promotes healthy attitudes in diversity, body image, race and equality. Things that the article above would have us believe are precursors to abortion. What a jump in logic indeed. After all knowledge is dangerous. It’s better to keep children in the dark and not teach them anything.
If you follow the links in the above article you will find more half truths and outright lies. Why attack a group that works with churches, YWCA’s and local charities? Because it teaches young girls to be intelligent and active in their communities. It also teaches them to question stereotypes such as body image as depicted in the media, racism, and peer pressure. The last Breast Cancer Walk I was in had many troups of girl scouts helping out and walking, funny I didn’t see one American Heritage Girl.
