Engaging Weekend: Planned Parenthood Says Being a “Slut” is Good, Schools Offer Abortion Pill without Parents Knowledge, K-12 Students Encouraged to Celebrate LGBT Month

Engaging Weekend is a collection of articles you might have missed over the weekend. But we think they are worth reading and wanted to make sure you had a chance to check them out.

Planned Parenthood Tells Teens: Use Slut in a Positive Way

I don’t know anyone that would consider the word “slut” to be a positive word we would hope our children use for themselves. The term itself is derogatory in nature to describe someone with no morals regarding sex. Yet Planned Parenthood wants our kids to the term in a positive way, and to see the good side of it!? A recent article reports: “A lot of people define slut as someone who has too much sex or too many partners…But did you know that some people use slut in a positive way? They use it to define a woman who is confident in her sexuality and being the sexual being that she is.” No, no one uses it to describe a woman that is confident in her sexuality. This game of semantics by Planned Parenthood is intended to corrupt the moral nature of our kids and relegate sex to a base act between any two people instead of the sacred act between a husband and wife it was intended to be. 13 NYC PUBLIC SCHOOLS NOW OFFERING MORNING AFTER PILL TO STUDENTS — WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT

A new pilot program is making the morning after abortion pill available to girls as young as 14 years old. According to an article at TheBlaze.com: “The New York City Department of Education is making the morning-after-pill available to high school girls at 13 public schools. The DOE says girls as young as 14 will be able to get the Plan B emergency contraception without parental consent.” While information on the program was sent to parents, the clear danger of making abortifacients available to high school girls is still the problem. Abortion advocates are trying to make abortion and the drugs that cause them so casual that even 14 year old girls have no trouble obtaining them. The degradation of human life through these programs is sickening. Click here for original article.

‘GROUNDBREAKING’: K-12 STUDENTS IN FL ENCOURAGED TO CELEBRATE LGBT HISTORY MONTH IN OCTOBER

The Broward County school district in Florida is being lauded for their decision to take part in celebrating LGBT month in their classrooms. An article states: “The Broward school district in Florida has endorsed what is being called a “groundbreaking” resolution encouraging K-12 students to celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender History Month this October, the Sun Sentinel reports. Begun in 1994 by a Missouri high school teacher, according to the Miami Herald, LGBT History Month has been recognized by a wide variety of adult politicians and public figures for years.  However it is not often celebrated in classrooms with young children, possibly because the topic is intrinsically sexual.” With U.S. academic scores plummeting is it really the best use of our time and resources to be pushing schools to teach this? Additionally it will expose students to explicit sexual conversations that parents should be allowed to determine if their kids are ready to participate in. Overall, this is a terrible idea.  Click here for original article.

Chick-fil-A’s CEO Clarifies: ‘We have made no concessions’

In light of reports last week that Chick-Fil-A had changed its policy and would no longer donate to groups that support traditional marriage, CEO Dan Cathy has put all rumors and false reports to rest with his recent statements: “There continues to be erroneous implications in the media that Chick-fil-A changed our practices and priorities in order to obtain permission for a new restaurant in Chicago. That is incorrect. Chick-fil-A made no such concessions, and we remain true to who we are and who we have been.” Chick-Fil-A continues to be attacked for their position on marriage and some local politicians continue to threaten to deny building permits over it. But, to this point, and to their credit, Chick-Fil-A has stood their ground and is refusing to cave. And I continue to support them. Click here for original article.
