Your Support is Urgently Needed Today!
Dear Friend,
This ACTION ALERT is being sent to our most loyal supporters. Thank you so much for your prayers and your generous gifts!
I am calling on you once again to help the Family Policy Council of West Virginia at this most critical time. You see, your financial support is urgently needed today to keep our vital programs moving forward over the weeks and months to come. We must raise at least $130,000 over the next few weeks so that we can fully launch all of our 2012 initiatives.
Our most basic family values are being challenged by groups that seek to introduce radical sex education programs into our public schools. These self-proclaimed LGBT groups are committed to teaching our children that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender behaviors are perfectly normal and acceptable. Even worse, these groups are now aggressively advocating for “anti-bullying” laws in West Virginia to ostracize and re-educate any Christian students who express sincere beliefs that homosexual behavior is morally wrong.
The pro-family efforts of Family Policy Council of West Virginia are needed more than ever. We accomplished much in 2011, but those successful efforts have depleted most of our financial resources. We must replenish these funds as soon as possible. Therefore, I urge you to prayerfully consider making a generous end-of-year gift to the Family Policy Council of West Virginia.
Your support today will help us stand strong in 2012 so we may uphold Christian truths and preserve our moral foundations. PLEASE CLICK HERE TO GIVE TODAY.
I also especially invite you to pray with me that God will graciously reach and change the hearts of all people who mistakenly believe that the love of Jesus is best expressed through the tolerance of sin. May we give thanks during this Christmas season that the redemptive and transforming love of Jesus Christ is far too deep and powerful to leave His children lost in their present brokenness!
Sincerely,
Jeremiah G. Dys, Esq.

News Release: Voter Registration Website for Churches Launches Ahead of Special Election
Family group urges its statewide network of churches and families to boost voter registration numbers by using www.WVVoter.com.
CHARLESTON, W.Va.— A new tool is available for churches in West Virginia to use in encouraging their membership to vote in October’s special election for governor. The Family Policy Council of West Virginia (FPCWV) has launched www.wvvoter.com to encourage its statewide network of churches and families to boost voter registration numbers across the state.
“Christians have the privilege of stewarding our government through the electoral process,” said Jeremy Dys, president and general counsel of the FPCWV, “And yet, far too many faithful churchgoers are not even registered to vote. WVVoter.com is designed as a service to West Virginia’s Christian community to improve voter registration in just three simple steps.”
At www.WVVoter.com, visitors are taken through a three-step process that leverages the power of community in voter registration.
First, visitors are encouraged to register themselves. In step 2, visitors can use www.WVVoter.com’s unique mobilization tool to invite up to 5 friends to register to vote too. Finally, in Step 3, WVVoter.com encourages, and gives instructions to, those who want help with hosting voter registration drives at their church.

NY Considers Redefining the Family – In a rather stunning admission, a NY lawmaker has said that redefining marriage will also mean redefining the family. And, further, to him this is a good thing.
Can Gov’t Get Out of the ‘Marriage Business?’ – on Monday, Ron Paul suggested that, to solve the debate about the redefinition of marriage, government should get out of the marriage business and let the church handle it. While this is a popular thought amongst libertarians, and has a certain appeal even for conservative Christians, it’s impossible. Steven Taylor clearly explains why.
Three Sermons on the Tragedy of Abortion – John Piper has long spoken boldly for the pre born. Here are 3 of his sermons on the topic. Learn from him, especially if you fill the pulpit. For an added bonus, below is a moving video of his boldest stand for the unborn:
The Engaging Essentials
What a tremendous day at the Exodus International Equipping Event yesterday! Good weather, we had to add tables for all the same-day registrants we didn’t expect, and, most importantly, what a wonderful presentation by the kind loving staff from Exodus International. Thanks also to WV MetroNews for covering.
PCUSA Finally Jumps the Shark – Theologically speaking, of course. The final culmination of years of dithering on the topic results in the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. taking the final step to permit the ordination of men and women living a homosexual lifestyle. Regrettable doesn’t quite summarize my thoughts.
Women’s Clinic’s Must Improve – Here’s a story I’m watching with interest. A “family planning” leader is urging community health centers to increase care to women. While I’m for healthcare for women and, generally, like the idea of community health centers, I’m wondering what either has to do with “family planning.” Heretofore, community health centers held the idea of family planning – which is often little more than a euphemism for some form of birth control or abortion – at arm’s length. Frankly, I couldn’t get a read on the thoughts and plans here, thus why I say I’m watching it with interest.
More DOMA Sabotage by DOJ – Remember when the Attorney General said he would stop defending DOMA, but would continue to enforce it? Well, as Ed Whelan points out, that evidently has not been the case.
Navy Authorizes Chaplains to Marry Same-Sex Couples – “Repealing DADT has nothing to do with same-sex ‘marriage’,” they said. ”Repealing DADT is just about letting people be themselves in the military,” they said. ”Chaplains in a post-DADT world won’t be compelled or have their theology challenged,” they said. Why do I believe them less now than I did then? UPDATE: Under pressure from lawmakers, the Navy has (rightly and) abruptly reversed course.
