Michael Norton: Planned Parenthood’s Campaign of – Prayer!?
by Nathan A. Cherry, 04/26/2012
Last week I told you about a pathetic new campaign by Planned Parenthood out in California. They have decided to mirror (though I think mock is a better word) the “40 Days for Life” campaign that has successfully rescued thousands of unborn children nationwide with their own twisted version called “40 Days of Prayer” for abortion.
The very idea that anyone would pray for more killing of unborn children is beyond me, and yet, not only is Planned Parenthood “praying” for this, but clergy are leading the charge! A group of clergy is asking their congregations to engage in this most unholy campaign and pray “for women for whom pregnancy is not good news.”
Mike Norton, is an attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund and recently joined ADF as Senior Counsel on the Sanctity of Life Team. Norton recently wrote an article at TownHall.com on this disgusting campaign by Planned Parenthood. I would encourage you to read his article, posted below.
Planned Parenthood and Prayers For Death
by Michael Norton
Planned Parenthood is known for many things, most prominent among them being death, the promotion of sexual promiscuity, a war on the nuclear family, and financial support of the homosexual agenda.
Not exactly the kinds of things your pastor asks you to pray for when you gather at church on Sunday mornings, huh?
Nevertheless, the leadership at Six Rivers Planned Parenthood in Eureka, Calif., has undertaken 40 days of “prayer” “for women for whom pregnancy is not good news” and for the abortionists who will kill many of the babies those women have been “punished” with carrying.
Planned Parenthood Engages in “40 Days of Prayer” for Abortion!?
by Nathan A. Cherry, 04/25/2012
Planned Parenthood has been repeatedly accused and found guilty (even if only in public opinion) of perpetrating some low-down and absolutely reprehensible things. Their reputation as the nation’s largest abortion merchant and for covering up illegal activity (like sex-trafficking, parental consent laws etc.) is well documented; not to mention their recent bullying of the Susan G. Komen foundation after Komen initially decided to defund Planned Parenthood. This criminal organization is no stranger to dirty tricks and tactics to get what they want. But their most recent endeavor is so profane it makes me sick.
We are all familiar with the “40 Days for Life” campaign that seeks to rescue soon-to-be-aborted babies through intercessory prayer and sidewalk counseling. Every year thousands of innocent lives are saved through this campaign. And now Planned Parenthood has decided to copycat the campaign for its own purposes; namely, killing children.
According to several news sources, including this one from TheBlaze.com and this one from LifeNews.com, a California affiliate of Planned Parenthood is teaming up with pro-abortion clergy and other pro-abortion groups to carry out the campaign.
Some of the prayers found in fliers and brochures associated with the campaign say:
Day1: Today we pray for women for whom pregnancy is not good news, that they know they have choices.
Day 2: Today we pray for compassionate religious voices to speak out for the dignity and autonomy of women.
Day 31: Today we pray for all discrimination against women to cease.
Day 32: Today we pray for an end to the stigma perpetrated against women who have abortions.
Komen Apologizes for “Mistake” of Defunding Planned Parenthood
by Nathan A. Cherry, 04/16/2012
In the space of just a few shorts weeks the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation went on a roller coaster ride in the court of public opinion. And while many people think the ride is over, it might be that it’s just beginning. And where this crazy ride stops is, at this point, anyone’s guess.
You might remember all the drama that started earlier this year when Komen announced they were no longer funding Planned Parenthood through its grant program. This was a long-awaited announcement for pro-lifers that had a hard time understanding how a breast cancer awareness group could support an organization that performs procedures (abortion) which have been linked to breast cancer. It seems counter-productive at best. Click here for article links covering the Komen fiasco.
With all that’s happened it comes as no surprise that Komen had laid low and done everything possible to avoid media attention; even going so far as to skip their annual lobbying day at Congress. And while pundits speculate on whether this move signals that Komen is still reeling from the beating they took at the hands of the media and Planned Parenthood, Komen quietly let Congress know that they still seek funding. But first, Komen president Nancy Brinker was sure to apologize for their recent “mistakes,” as Lifenews.com reports:
“In the past few months, we made mistakes that ultimately raised questions in the community about our commitment to the mission of saving lives,” Brinker wrote. “We take full responsibility for these missteps and we extend our deepest apologies. Our commitment to ending breast cancer for all women remains unwavering and sincere.”
I Can Give You At Least One Reason I Would Support Romney Over Obama
by Nathan A. Cherry, 04/23/2012
Last September I predicted that either Romney or Perry would be the GOP presidential nominee. Was this because of my vast political insider knowledge, or tips from “sources,” or even my academic assessment of political winds? Nope, it was just a gut feeling and I went with it. Well, it turns out my gut feeling may just prove to be true (barring any unforeseen occurrence.
I know some people across the U.S. were hoping for someone else, someone that was running like Rick Santorum, or even someone that wasn’t running like Mike Pence or Chris Christie. But the fact is Mitt Romney will – for all intents and purposes – be the nominee. So we can either choose to get behind him or we can, as our blogger Tom Stark discussed, get ready for “4 more years” of Obama. I’m still debating on whether or not to write an article titled “Why I Am Voting for Mitt Romney,” with a tag line saying “because he’s not President Obama.” It might be a short article.
The fact remains that we have an opportunity to change the course of our country in November. This is something President Obama touted, saying he was going to bring “Hope and Change.” But if this is the definition of hope and change according to our president then I submit that he has a vastly different definition of hope and change than nearly every American.
One positive aspect to Romney (among others) is that he is pro-life. I know, it’s been debated tirelessly whether or not he is truly pro-life or not. However I can’t help but believe that if elected president on a pro-life platform that Romney would behave accordingly. Some might say “that’s not true, look at Obama.” But Obama never said he was pro-life, never ran on a pro-life platform, and never received endorsements from our nation’s pro-life groups (state, federal or otherwise). Obama had the endorsement of Planned Parenthood from the beginning and he has handsomely rewarded Planned Parenthood for their support and money by giving them more tax money than any other president in history, refusing to defund them despite efforts from Congress, ending the Mexico City policy so Planned Parenthood can pursue abortions worldwide and not just in the U.S., and ignoring their many violations of the law.
Some might call me a single issue voter, which I would deny. However, as a Christian I will happily admit that I am a staunch pro-life advocate that refuses to vote for anyone that so ardently supports abortion as President Obama does.
So you can understand how I would be encouraged to learn that Romney is picking up the endorsement of many state and federal pro-life groups. He’s not just picking up endorsements from high-ranking politicians and leaders in record numbers, but also the statewide groups that are on the front lines of the abortion issue; including West Virginians for Life, which made this statement:
“Mitt Romney’s pro-life positions are representative of the strong pro-life commitment of West Virginia voters. We look forward to his successful campaign here in our state.”
With endorsements from Michigan, Nevada, and now West Virginia pro-life groups it seems to make sense that we can now trust Romney to be a pro-life president that will seek to advance the surging culture of life sweeping across America. But these are just a few of the states’ pro-life groups backing Romney, as LifeNews.com explains:
“Romney’s home state group — the organization that perhaps knows his conversion to the pro-life perspective and record as former governor of the Bay State better than any — is endorsing him as well. The Massachusetts Citizens for Life Political Action Committee has issued its full endorsement for Romney as he potentially looks to take on pro-abortion President Barack Obama and pro-life group’s in Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania have followed suit.”
I suppose we could sit around and argue over whether or not Romney is really pro-life, but that seems like a waste of time. With these and other endorsements pouring in I think it’s time we recognize that President Obama is without a doubt a pro-abortion President and we need to replace him with someone that will defend life.
I would much rather give Romney a chance than endure another four years of our nation’s most pro-abortion president in history. I’m sure many innocent children would agree.

Are You Ready for 4 More Years of Obama?
By Tom Stark, 04/18/2012
In 2008, Barack Obama burst onto the national scene as his party’s nominee with little to nothing being known of his life prior to his election to the Illinois Senate in 2000. He gave a great speech (from their point of view) at his party’s convention in 2004 and spent a brief period as a U.S. Senator before those in party power knighted him to the candidacy for U.S. President in 2008.
One of the notable highlights of that campaign season was just how quiet and unchallenging the majority of the press was with regard to any history about Mr. Obama even to the extent of his record in theU.S.or Illinois Senates. Perhaps one can overlook the personal stuff (although it was also very revealing), but his direct statements and arguments made on the floor of the Illinois Senate are pointedly what I am driving at today. Were more people aware of some of these things, I find it hard to believe we would be enduring his Presidency at the present time.
Most notable of his activities in Illinois are those related to debating the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA) introduced to prevent the practice of allowing infants born alive as a result of late-term, labor-induced, abortions to die without any action being required of hospital or medical staff in attendance. This practice is well documented in witness statements – both medical personnel and patients.
Jill Stanek, writing for World Net Daily (www.wnd.com) has documented ten different statements that demonstrate that our current President – unique among all prior Presidents – supports infanticide not only in principle, but with enthusiastic arguments that bear little resemblance to truth or any real resemblance to the thinking of any Christian I have ever met. In these ten positions, all taken before, but not long before, he began campaigning for the Presidency.
Lila Rose: Combating Lies of Abortion Advocates
by Nathan A. Cherry, 04/13/2012
It’s not often that I simply reprint another article and ask you to read it. But when a highly respected conservative leader in our nation writes something that I believe represents the popular opinion of people while dispelling false notions and stereotypes I just can’t help myself. So it is with this recent article by Live Action president Lila Rose.
Having met Ms. Rose a few years ago I can honestly say that her passion to defend life and see Planned Parenthood shut its doors forever is even greater than my own; and you know how much I want to see Planned Parenthood closed. So I am asking that you take a few moments to read this fantastic article.
And if you want some excellent follow-up commentary on Lila’s article check out what Lifenews.com had to say about her article. Though it might take a few minutes to read them both you surely won’t be sorry for doing so. Articles like these serve as encouragement for us as we realize that the message of life is winning among the youth of America.
Battle hymn of the anti-abortion feminist
In the ongoing debate over women’s health care, one voice has been mostly absent: that of the anti-abortion feminist.
Most cultural conservatives have correctly focused their attention on the constitutional issues at stake, in particular the threat to religious liberty posed by the Obama administration’s mandate that religious employers underwrite their employees’ abortion-inducing drugs, contraceptives and sterilization procedures.
Many liberal women, meanwhile, have eagerly embraced the role of victim, advancing the idea that women are casualties of a “war on women.” Women are now, as various cultural liberals have put it, “facing sexual McCarthyism” from “conservative cavemen” who want to return to the “Dark Ages.”
This Website Positively Links the Girls Scouts and Planned Parenthood
By Tom Stark, 04/11/2012
I ran across a highly fact-filled web site this week that adds significantly to my knowledge of just what is going on in the Girl Scouts of America (GSA) organization and how they have been moved from a traditional, faith-based, community centered, morally and spiritually supportive source of conservative guidance for our next generation of women in America to a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-promiscuity partner with Planned Parenthood (PP).
In fact, it is almost like PP and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) have taken over the Board of Directors of the GSA. Don’t believe me? All one must do is visit the website, http://www.100questionsforthegirlscouts.org/100/ . There is a list of no less than 17 members of national or council management who have strong and activi ties to these organizations and a number of others with dubious views on the moral virtue of our children, particularly girls.
No, not every local council of the GSA has been corrupted yet, but it is only a matter of time. What time provides is the opportunity for more and more positions within their management structure to change hands with the replacements being more left-oriented and open to the progressive agenda of “anything goes” moral standards heralded by popular opinion instead of the rule of law (both civil and natural law).
Here are a few notable examples of “leadership” being provided our children (Question numbers relate to the numbers listed on the referenced web site):
Question 5: Are parents aware that if their Girl Scout council partners with Planned Parenthood their daughters may be exposed to sexually graphic booklets like, “It’s Perfectly Normal,” which was distributed to 700 Girl Scouts in Texas? This booklet condones masturbation and contains explicit cartoons of couples having sex and a boy putting on a condom.
October Baby: Coming to a Theater Near You
A couple of weeks ago, October Baby surprised many in Hollywood for its performance at the theaters. Perhaps you listened to my interview with one of the stars of that movie, Jason Burkey.
I know many were disappointed when they went to find tickets to the show, only to discover that not a single theater was showing it in the State of West Virginia. BUT, because it has done so well, the distributor of the movie has expanded dramatically its theater distribution.
As of Friday evening, October Baby will be showing in Barboursville, Beckley, Charleston, and Huntington.
Watch the trailer above and then head out this weekend to support this excellent movie!
The Esther Call – A Call to Life
By Kelly Clinger, 04/10/2012

Pro-life advocate and musician Kelly Clinger
Sometimes I look around and wonder how I got here. How is it that a girl who sings a little and decided to talk about her abortions became surrounded by people she’s looked up to and admired because of their passion for Jesus and their bold stance for LIFE? This week I found myself praying next to them…standing on a platform with them…singing at a keyboard beside them…having conversations with them like we’ve been friends for years. It felt like the safest place I’ve ever been.
In the midst of those I’ve looked up to are also many I met for the first time…but our hearts to save the unborn and help the broken knit us together like old friends. The diversity of this group was truly beautiful. Women and men were present from every tribe, tongue, people & nation it seemed, and yet the sense of unity was tangible…heaven on earth, perhaps. I was so encouraged by this and thought many churches should take note of it.
There were so many seemingly small interactions and conversations during the Esther Call that were answers to prayers I’ve prayed. I had the chance to tell Laura Hackett how her set in the Prayer Room the day the birth Mom changed her mind helped to get me through the pain and disappointment. I got to tell many of the Back to Life walkers how proud I am of them and how much I missed being able to walk with them. I listened to encouraging, dynamic stories of forgiveness and restoration. I prayed and declared LIFE with a room full of voices who refuse to be silenced. It was the most tremendous sound I’ve ever heard and the most invigorating feeling I’ve ever felt.
The Red Bucket of Red China
At the confluence of feminist ideology and proponents of population control is communist (‘red’) China. Their population is often cited as being, “overpopulated” to the point of causing continuing, future harm across the globe. China’s government has sought to be proactive in response to that concern by taking a page from the feminist ideal of family planning through abortion.
Yet, what is often called, “China’s one-child policy” is not choice at all. Abortion is required, at times, and – if unwilling – forced upon the unwilling mother. And child. Whereas the abortion industry is propelled by a profit-motive in the West, in the East, communism has exposed the dark underbelly of abortion: the forced destruction of human lives.
Simply because it is cloaked in terms of being “pro-woman” and “pro-choice,” is the West’s commitment to abortion on demand any less putrid than what we learn from this story?
I’ll not publish the photo, but should you care to, you may click here to read the entire story and see the now infamous, “red bucket.” Here’s the account of what happens when government lock-stock-and-barrell endorses abortion:
“According to a Doctor at the hospital where the two died, the young woman was kidnapped by the “Birth Control Office” and taken to the hospital where she was forced to undergo an abortion procedure,” it said. “The young woman fought with staff to protect her unborn child however a half a dozen men, pushed her down on a bed and injected her with a drug to induce labor. After the young woman had a still birth, she developed a massive hemorrhage and soon thereafter died.”
Why did this happen?
Because the parents of the baby already had a child, they were hunted down and forced to comply with China’s draconian one child policy. The mother was injected with a poison that induced an abortion, but after the baby was “pulled out inhumanly like a piece of meat,” it was still alive and began to cry before doctors slung the defenseless child into a bucket and left it to die.
The image began circulating today on Weibo, China’s version of Twitter, which has around 260 million members. The story has attracted widespread revulsion directed against the family planning authorities responsible for the murder of the baby.
Adopt the position that abortion is a necessary part of women’s healthcare and, before long, what was once euphemistically a “choice” is now a governmentally enforced mandate.
If the abortion industry in the West will not condemn this, I submit they are ideologically complicit in this woman’s death.
If this does not motivate our state and country to register an official, diplomatic objection to this massive violation of human rights, what will?
