Enrolling in ObamaCare? You Will Support Abortion

Some might not realize that simply enrolling in ObamaCare will ensure that you support the abortion industry. A portion of your insurance premium will be set aside to help women obtain abortions. Sure, Obama promise no money would be used for abortion; so did Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and others. But our president has shown that he cannot be trusted and will say whatever he needs to pass a bill. So teh reality is that your money will be used to pay for abortions. A recent article highlights this fact:

“From a pro-life perspective, the most important fact is that massive federal premium subsidies will go to Exchange plans that cover elective abortion (a sharp departure from the longstanding policy of the Hyde Amendment), and every enrollee in the plan will have a portion of the enrollee’s premium placed into a separate account for elective abortions (dubbed the “abortion surcharge”). But this is just one example of how the Obama administration is implementing ObamaCare in a way so as to advance the abortion industry.”

In my home state of West Virginia, every citizen pays for the abortion industry in our state. Through medicare/medicaid and social security our lawmakers are forcing us to help fund the abortion industry. ObamaCare will be a further encroachment on our pro-life values. ObamaCare Explained with a Hamburger

Some folks are having trouble understanding why ObamaCare is such a bad bill and needs to be repealed. Recently, a doctor sought to find a way to explain the bill in a way that would make sense to normal folks who don’t speak political double-speak. His analogy using a hamburger does just that. He said:

“Suppose a customer orders a $3 quarter-pounder. The clerk says, ‘Well, you’re in luck because the government has just said that you can buy it for $2.50. But, 15 percent of the population basically can’t afford the $2.50, so we need you to contribute the mandatory voluntary contribution’ of $1.00. It’s really popular with the 15 percent group, and so we don’t have as many. So we’re losing money, so we’ve had to decrease the value to an eighth-pounder, from a quarter-pounder, and by the way, you can only have two even though you wanted four, and you can pick it up in three or four days,’”

Did you notice the use of terms such as “mandatory voluntary”? ObamaCare is doing what the Constitution strictly forbids, forcing people to buy a product. In addition to this very well worded example, ObamaCare will force millions of Americans to violate their conscience and religious convictions by funding abortion. So we have a bill that violates the Constitution in at least two ways. That’s why we’re upset and opposing it. Click here for original article.

Engaging Weekend: New Effort to Celebrate Abortion Nationwide, Your Tax Dollars Supporting Abortion and Planned Parenthood, Pray for the Persecuted Church

FPC-BlogUpdate-EngagingWeek

Engaging Weekend is a collection of articles you might have missed over the weekend. But we thought they were important and wanted to make sure you had a chance to read them.

Campaign seeks to eliminate stigma of abortion with personal stories

You know what we need to do? We need to have book clubs and dinner parties to celebrate our abortions. Don’t you think? Well, at least one group is calling for women to do just that. They want to “start a new conversation” about abortion that will de-stigmatize it and instead, celebrate it. A recent article states: “Across the country, pro-abortion activists are calling for women to spark a personal, “new conversation about abortion access” in an effort to de-stigmatize the practice…The campaign’s website suggests activists host a ‘casual get-together,’ a ‘dinner or dessert party,’ have a book [club] to discuss the book ‘1 in 3: These Are Our Stories,’ and/or set up a table on campus or in the community to get the conversation going.” Hey, I’m in. I want to de-stigmatize abortion as well. I want to remove the idea that it is “healthcare,” or that it’s a woman’s body and therefore her choice when there is another unique human being involved. However, the thought of thinking that abortion is no different than running errands, changing clothes, or buying a new computer is patently false and offensive. We should be appalled that anyone would want us to think nothing of the murder of innocent children. Click here for original article.

Top 5 Moments from Sen. Ted Cruz’ Epic ObamaCare Speech

TheBlaze: “Tea party conservative Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) stood tall against President Barack Obama’s health care law on Tuesday, vowing to speak until he could ‘no longer stand’ in a bid to prevent Senate Democrats from restoring the Obamacare funds that the U.S. House voted to strip. ‘I rise today in opposition to Obamacare,’ Cruz said at 2:41 p.m. ET. He referred to the law as a job killer and a ‘liberal train wreck.’ Seven hours later, he was still going strong.”

Why am I posting clips from Sen. Cruz’ speech? Not simply because it is one of the most epic filibusters even delivered in U.S. history, reaching more than 19 hours at the time of this posting. But because Sen. Cruz is standing for life, and for religious freedom. ObamaCare is not just a policy and economic nightmare. It is a bill that will fund abortion with our tax dollars. It is a bill that will trample our religious freedom by forcing every American to help fund abortion. Sen. Cruz is speaking out for the unborn, for Christians, for people morally opposed to abortion. For that he deserves a lot of respect. Click here to see video clips of his epic speech.

You Will Pay for Abortions Starting October 1

Now that we know what is in ObamaCare, pro-life Americans, along with most others, don’t like it. With higher taxes, increased premiums, government red tape, and more, this bill has been a huge failure form the beginning. But now, and perhaps worst of all, those who value life will be forced to support the abortion industry through their health care plans. A recent article reports: “The anti-life policies of Obamacare intertwined throughout healthcare at the personal, business, state and federal levels make it nearly impossible for an increasingly pro-life American public to avoid paying for life-ending events…Anyone with e-mail understands what it means when you are signed up – opted in – to a list without your consent. For the first time in U.S. History, Obamacare opts in almost every America to all kinds of abortion-related policies, intertwined at multiple levels. And if you try to opt-out, the answers for many has been NO, and the punishments severe.”

It is unthinkable that a government would force people to support and subsidize procedures they have a moral and religious conviction against. What can we do to stop this? We can call our elected officials and let them know we want ObamaCare defunded and repealed. We can support those measures when they come up in the House or Senate. We can encourage our state legislatures to enact measures to protect our conscience rights. WE certainly cannot afford to sit back and do nothing. Click here for original article.

GAO to Investigate Planned Parenthood

Some good news across the nation today as the Government Accountability Office has agreed to investigate Planned Parenthood’s use of federal funds. After being ordered to pay more than $4 million in a lawsuit in which it was determined Planned Parenthood committed fraud, an investigation into the use of tax money is now under way. A recent article reports:

“The federal government providing funding to abortion providers is a serious problem in our nation,” said Tennessee Republican Rep. Diane Black in a statement. “I am pleased with the decision from GAO to investigate the use of taxpayer money designated to any abortion provider, particularly Planned Parenthood. This independent study of how much and for what purpose these dollars are allocated to all abortion providers is necessary for Congress to ensure accountability and oversight.”

We may not be able to agree on all aspect of the abortion issue, but we can certainly agree that tax payers should not be funding Planned Parenthood. Like every other non-profit organization they should be getting their money from actual donations, not forcing Americans to fund them. Click here for original article.

Did You know Each State Can Repeal ObamaCare?

A recent article states: “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) itself empowers states to block the employer mandate, to exempt many of their low- and middle-income taxpayers from the individual mandate, and to reduce federal deficit spending, simply by not establishing a health insurance ‘exchange’…To date, 34 states, accounting for roughly two-thirds of the U.S. population, have refused to create Exchanges. Under the statute, this shields employers in those states from a $2,000 per worker tax that will apply in states that are creating Exchanges (e.g., California, Colorado, New York). Those 34 states have exempted at least 8 million residents from taxes as high as $2,085 on families of four earning as little as $24,000. They have also reduced federal deficits by hundreds of billions of dollars.”

You probably didn’t know that, and won’t hear it on the nightly news. Also unfortunate is the fact that West Virginia, rather than protecting citizens has chosen to full implement ObamaCare. This means higher taxes, fewer choices, and funding abortion against our religious convictions. Our lawmakers seem bent on forcing us to comply with this awful despite the overwhelming opposition to it on the part of Americans, and especially medical professionals. Perhaps we need new lawmakers. Click here for original article.

Apparently Even Baptists Aren’t Immune From This Sin!

Texas Planned ParenthoodBeing a member of a fiercely independent Baptist Church, this article at lifesitenews.com gave me pause to reflect upon just how vulnerable any particular church can be to the dogmatic and yet completely mesmerizing message of the progressive “reformers” who use their message to divide and conquer the Christian voices in our society.

Perhaps Nathan Cherry, Jeremy Dys and I are preaching to the choir to some degree, but my hope is that our writings and exhortations to stand firm, stand up, and speak out in defense of traditional family values, the unborn, and religious freedom are being spread through the wonders of the internet to at least some of those who have not yet “seen the light” of God’s grace and mercy.  We all hope that at least some people might be swayed to see things in a different light.

Some among our numbers, while claiming to be devout Christians have allowed the secular message to influence their beliefs and doctrines in seemingly paradoxical ways.

The case of Lakeshore Baptist Church in Waco, TX, is illustrative of how contradictory messages can be allowed to rest side by side but present a confused and unconvincing message to those who seek the Truth and turn toLakeshoreBaptistChurch for that Truth.

You see, Lakeshore has taken it upon itself to claim Planned Parenthood as a mission and is providing funding to that organization through a church-affiliated “Covenant Group”

Fr. Frank Pavone: Ten Reasons the Pro-Life Movement is Winning on Abortion

Fr Frank PavoneFather Frank Pavone has compiled a list of ten reasons why the pro-life movement is winning the abortion battle. The list is filled with the mounting evidence which shows those on the side of life are making progress in seeing life defended and the threat to innocent children finally ended. I could comment on his list but his thoughts are so well written that would be better served to simply read them yourself. For the original article with all of Fr. Pavone’s comments you can click here. But you can read his ten reasons and the short version of each comment below.

Once you’ve finished reading I recommend passing it on to a friend, especially a care pregnancy center worker that needs encouraged. Simply put, more Americans are pro-life and the issue is slowly but surely coming to a point where our lawmakers will either have to refuse to fund the abortion industry of do so at their re-election peril in direct opposition to the wishes of their constituents. These reasons, in addition to the millions of children that will be saved are reason enough to continue fighting this “good fight.” Here’s Fr. Pavone’s ten reasons:

Sign 1: The survivors

The surest sign of our ultimate victory is the strong and ever-growing involvement of young people in all aspects of the fight to end abortion. And if you ask them why they’ve joined our fight, they will tell you: “It could have been me

That Pesky Stem Cell Debate Seems to be Settled. Guess Who Won?

by Nathan A. Cherry, 07/27/2012

adult stem cellI’ve long been interested in the stem cell debate. I don’t know if it’s a fascination with the ability to recreate organs and cure diseases or simply my morbid curiosity over the staunch liberal support of the utterly failed embryonic stem cell research. Either way I have done my best to stay apprised of what is happening in this debate as it pertains to my desire to see life defended. After all, one thing is certain, embryonic stem cell research destroys viable human embryos, which is tantamount to murder.

What I never could figure out is why the government would choose to fund something that was a complete failure. Former president George W. Bush refused to force tax payers to fund embryonic stem cell research because it violates the religious and moral convictions of so many pro-life Americans. President Obama has had no such trouble and has funneled millions toward the research.
