Martinsburg, WV – Maybe you missed this interview we did with Gov. Tomblin on the critical social issues that concern us as West Virginians. It’s rare for a candidate, much less an acting Governor to speak so candidly on some of the hottest issues in our society; especially in an election year. So when FPCWV president Jeremy Dys had the opportunity to spend some time talking with Gov. Tomblin we were pleasantly surprised and grateful for his honest answers to our questions.
As I listened to this interview I was happy to hear directly from the Governor himself that he believes in life and seeks to be a defender of life politically. That is certainly encouraging for pro-life advocates in West Virginia that want to see strong pro-life lawmakers elected. It also means we should be able to count on Gov. Tomblin for his support in strengthening life laws in West Virginia.
The issue of marriage is center stage in West Virginia right now thanks to the introduction of a bill to the legislature by Del. John Doyle to legalize same-sex unions. Gov. Tomblin talks openly about his views on marriage and answers some tough questions that many lawmakers would seek to avoid.
We thank Gov. Tomblin for his time and honesty in speaking with us about these important issues. We hope you will take a few moments to listen to this interview and then perhaps email the Governor to thank him for speaking candidly on some tough issues.
