Informed people make informed decisions. At least that’s the theory. One of our goals is to make sure you stay informed on critical matters so you can make informed decisions. In particular I am talking about decisions on where you will spend your money. I have a list of places I won’t patron because of their open, vocal position on issues like abortion, homosexuality, and marriage redefinition. I have another list of places I try to support often for the same reasons. And I try to stay informed.
By now everyone knows about the Susan G. Komen for the Cure partnership with Planned Parenthood and that many, including myself, have refused to take part in their fundraisers or support them. Yes, they do some great work in seeking to find an end to breast cancer, but, ironically, by giving to Planned Parenthood they are helping women become more susceptible to breast cancer through abortion. Go figure.
Another group that has recently surfaced on many people’s watch list is the American Cancer Society (ACS). According to one recent article the ACS is similar to Komen for funding Planned Parenthood, but there’s more to it than that. LifeNews.com reports:

Martinsburg, WV – All the excitement over the Susan G. Komen defunding-then-refunding Planned Parenthood fiasco has died down. This is, in no small part, thanks to the fact that Komen did in fact reinstate its funding of Planned Parenthood and pro-life Senior VP Karen Handle is no longer with the organization. I think this is also due to the collective disgust felt by millions of pro-life advocates that prematurely gave Komen a slap on the back and promise of support.
